Terms of use
Last updated October 22, 2026
Roll Hollow is a solo roleplaying toolkit: an oracle, a journal and a campaign that remembers. These terms are the deal between you and me. I've kept them short and plain.
Who runs Roll Hollow
Roll Hollow is made and run by one person, Matthew Freeman, trading as Roll Hollow, not a company. These terms are an agreement between you and me, and when they say "I" or "me", that's who they mean. You can reach me at hello@rollhollow.com.
You must be 18 or older
You need to be at least 18 to use or buy Roll Hollow. If you are younger, please don't sign in. If I learn an account belongs to someone under 18, I'll close it and delete what the server holds for it.
Your license
- Buying Roll Hollow is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for your own play, for as long as Roll Hollow runs.
- Lemon Squeezy sells it on my behalf as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles sales tax and sends your receipt, under its own terms. I never see your card details.
- If Roll Hollow isn't for you, email me within 14 days of buying and I'll refund you in full, through Lemon Squeezy.
- The app's code, look, logo and its oracle and prompt tables stay mine. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute them.
Your campaigns are yours
- Everything you write in Roll Hollow is yours.
- You are responsible for the pictures you add. Add only pictures you have the right to use. They stay on your device with the campaign and are not sent to me.
- Your campaigns are kept on your device, not on my server, so I can't see them, publish them or use them for anything. The Privacy statement says exactly what does leave your device.
- Because they live in your browser, clearing its data or losing the device can lose them (Safari on an iPhone or iPad can also clear a site you haven't opened in a while, and any browser can clear storage when the device runs low on space). Keep a copy: Settings, then Your data, can save them to a folder or download them.
- Please don't paste in other people's work (text, characters, settings, tables or art from books, games or films) unless you have the right to use it. Roll Hollow doesn't license any published setting.
Fair use
Never use Roll Hollow for content that sexualizes children. Also don't:
- break, overload or attack the service;
- share your account;
- copy, resell or redistribute the app.
If an account breaks these rules, I can limit, suspend or close it.
Provided as is
Roll Hollow is provided "as is" and "as available". I don't promise it will always be up, fast or free of errors, or that data can never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, I make no warranties of any kind, and I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost time. My total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Roll Hollow. Some places don't allow these limits; there they apply only as far as the law allows.
Ending things, and changes
- You can stop using Roll Hollow at any time. Your campaigns stay on your device until you delete them.
- If I ever shut Roll Hollow down, I'll try to give at least 30 days' notice, and the app keeps your campaigns on your device so you can download a copy.
- If Roll Hollow ever shuts down, I'll publish a final version with everything unlocked, so the app and your campaigns keep working.
- When I change these terms in a meaningful way, I'll update the date at the top and say so in the app before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using it and ask for a refund of a purchase made in the last 14 days.
The rest
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Anthropic, Lemon Squeezy, Supabase and Vercel aren't part of this agreement and don't endorse Roll Hollow. Questions? Email hello@rollhollow.com.
